What We Believe

1.      We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, "as it is in truth, the Word of God..." I Thessalonians 2:13. We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God's preservation of His pure words to every generation II Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8.

The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.

2.       One God Eternally exists in three person:  Father, Son and, Holy Spirit.  Matthew 3:16-17,

      I  Corinthians 8:6, II Corinthians 13:14,  I John 5:7

3.       Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and is 100% God and 100% man.  Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23,  John 1:1-14

4.       Man was created in the image of God; man sinned, and thereby   incurred not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and all human beings are born with a sin nature because of Adam’s sin.  Genesis 1:26, 2:16, Romans 5:12

5.       Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified by his shed blood. John 3:16,   Romans 5:1, 5:8-9, I Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 9:11-15, 27-28

6.       The crucified body of the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead; He ascended into heaven and there acts as our intercessor. Matthew 28:6, I Corinthians 15:4, Acts 1:9, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25

7.       The personal, premillennial return of Christ is imminent. John 14:1-6,   Acts 1:11, Revelation 4:1

8.      Salvation is by grace through faith alone (plus nothing, minus nothing) in the finished work of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.  Ephesians 2:8-9, John 6:47, Revelation 3:20

9.       All believers are baptized into the True Body by the Holy Spirit and are set apart to walk after the things of the Spirit. I Corinthians 1:30, 12:13, Ephesians 2:10, I Peter 1:14-19

10.  All true believers, having been born again in the family of God, are possessors of everlasting life, shall never perish and are eternally secure. John 10:28-29, I Peter 1:3-5

11.   The bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust is certain, the   everlasting  blessings of the saved and everlasting punishment of the lost.  I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:11-15, John 5:28-29

12.    Immersion is the only Scriptural mode of baptism and is for believers only. Romans 6:3-4, Acts 8:36-38

13.   The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death until He comes, and is to be practiced periodically.  Luke 22:17-20,  I Corinthians 11:23-30
